WITH DIRECTV
Local broadcasts
through DIRECTV are governed by the FCC, who
mandates which residential areas are eligible for broadcasts from

Alternatives
to Local Channels
WITH AMERIDISH
If you do
not qualify for local programming or choose not to include local stations
with your programming, your package will be discounted as follows*:
TOTAL
CHOICE: $33.99 per month (discounted from $38.99)
TOTAL CHOICE PLUS: $37.99 per month (discounted from
$39.99)
TOTAL CHOICE PREMIER: $85.99 per month (discounted from
$87.99)
At this point, AMERIDISH
can offer you 4 options in regards to local programming:
- ANTENNA:
Many customers who do not qualify for local programming or choose
not to receive it are in an area where antenna reception is quite
good for local stations. For customers who choose this approach,
your antenna can easily be hooked into the back of your DIRECTV
receiver, and with a simple push of a button on your remote control,
you can switch over to local programming from your antenna feed.
- CABLE-PLUS:
In most areas, the local cable provider offers a very basic plan
for less than $10 per month that local channels only. If you do
not qualify for local programming through DIRECTV, but still wish
to receive local channels, this may be the choice for you! Simply
plug your local cable feed into your DIRECTV receiver and choose
between watching your basic cable and your 115+ channels of 100%
digital signal!
- WAIVER:
In some areas, the FCC will allow DIRECTV customers to sign a waiver,
indicating that they are unable to receive certain local channels
via antenna. These customers are then permitted to receive the national
broadcast of that station (ex., Fox from New York) for an additional
$2 fee each month. While AMERIDISH cannot gauruntee this method
for any specific area, all customers are encouraged to pursue this
route if they so desire.
- GO WITHOUT:
To some customers, local programming is just not important. In those
cases, customers may find it more convenient to simply go without
local stations!
